Only Walk For Women’s Cancer Where You Can Bring Your Dog!
CFTC partnered with the Montgomery County Humane Society one Sunday in June for their annual PAWS WALK. Hundred’s of people turned out with their critters at Wheaten Regional Park for a day of family fun and activities geared to all ages. Puppies and owners set out to walk the trails at 1:00 PM while others visited the various vendor booths – including ours. Participants raised money individually or in teams for two great causes – homeless animals or our CFTC – Women’s Cancer Fund.
Our CFTC team was called “BAD DOG” and raised about $5,000. Many thanks to everyone who contributed to our cause. Without your help, we would never be able to help women who are currently battling breast or any GYN related cancer and who are either uninsured or under insured with financial gaps pay for things like wigs, prosthetics, nausea medications, rent, medical bills, co-payments, rent, vet bills, and even critter walkers.
Our yorkie-poo therapy pup-in-training — Scully had so much fun meeting everyone who came to our booth and especially loved playing with some of your puppies. He slept all the way home and was pretty well shot for the rest of the evening, as was his mom.
A special thanks to Shari Barton’s team for being our #1 Fund Raiser. Way to go team!

Discovery Health Channel and Del Monte Foods partnered together to create The Power of Paws™ to educate consumers about the mutual health benefits that both pets and pet parents enjoy and motivates them to spend time together and connect.
“Studies show there are significant physical, mental, and emotional benefits for both pets and pets parents,” said Bill Pearse, Chief Marketing Officer of Del Monte Foods.

Scully is our new addition – a therapy puppy in training. Scully is a yorkie-poo who completed his first round of training classes.
