Our CPTAF program will enhance the traditional medical care that breast cancer patients receive by offering funds for treatments such as acupuncture, biofeedback, and massage therapy, as well as pay for things like wigs, and anti-nausea medications, medical bills, transportation, and even dog walkers.

Kentlands Women’s Double’s Round Robin Tennis Tournament

On Saturday, October 3rd, 2009, Critters For The Cure is hosting a Women’s Doubles Round Robin Tennis Tournament at The Kentlands in Gaithersburg. This fund raiser event is for women’s cancer as October is breast cancer month. The tournament’s tax deductible donation of $50 will get them an afternoon of tennis, as well as “Open Clinics” throughout the day. Download Registration Form Here

Critters (and Couture!) For The Cure – For Women’s Cancer

CFTC is hosting a Fashion Show Gala with Bloomingdale’s in February 2010 which should be one of the most fun event’s of the season. Women cancer survivors will walk the ‘cat walk’ with their faithful critters – both wearing the latest in fashion couture for the upcoming season. There will also be an opportunity to bid for some fabulous gifts during our Silent Auction portion of the gala while others nosh on scrumcious orderves while sipping champagne.

2010 Breast Cancer Calendar Photo Shoot

Twelve breast cancer survivor models, 13 puppies, and 2 guinea pigs names Missy and Tracia all came together one sunny morning in April. Each woman exemplified the extraordinary bond people share with their critters. Our latest calendar shoot took place at the Kentland’s Mansion in Gaithersburg, MD on April 19, 2009. This was our first out door photo-shoot that we have ever attempted, and we were thrilled that the weather was perfect. Our photographers were from Labor of Love Studio who decided to shoot three distinctively different settings for our 2010 calendar cover. The tough part will be–which photo do we finally select?

Stunning Breast Cancer Data Results

I’m sure that everyone has heard about the controversial new breast cancer report that was released today (11/17/09) stating that far too few women have been diagnosed with breast cancer to justify continuing with the same protocol that we are currently following in the U.S. — namely monthly breast self-examinations and mammograms every year beginning at age 40.
