This event is scheduled to take place on Thursday, March 11, 2010 at Bloomingdales in Chevy Chase, MD. This unique event will benefit the Critters Patient Treat Assistance Fund, which assists metro-area uninsured and underinsured women battling cancer.

During this extraordinary event, attendees will be treated to hors d’eourves, champagne and a luxury silent auction while beautiful women cancer survivors and their furry companions work the ‘catwalk’ in spring fashions by Bloomingdale’s, along with Ralph Lauren’s Polos for Pups line and Pet outfitter Puppia.

Critters For The Cure™ will also be honoring five outstanding doctors representing two area hospitals with special service awards along with one amazing woman who lived with breast cancer for 34 years before recently loosing her battle to cancer; a woman who has been an integral part of CFTC since it’s inception. With this event, we hope to raise women’s cancer awareness and much-needed funds to fight a disease that has personally touched so many in our community in one-way or another.

Be it a mother, sister, wife, daughter, coworker or friend, chances are we all have shared the anxiety of a diagnosis that continues to be one of the top killers of women. Critters For The Cure™ is looking forward to bringing together survivors, supporters, fashion and animal lovers, the medical community, policy makers and the Washington DC metro-area philanthropic community to help make a difference in the lives of all the women that we care about.

Critters For the Cure™ is a unique organization, now in it’s fourth year of operation. It’s unique programs have recently been profiled by The Discovery Channel, The Washington Post, The DC Examiner and Washington’s Finest.

Perhaps the most important part of the CFTC mission, is it’s dedication to benefiting women in the Washington D.C area. 90% of every dollar donated to CFTC goes directly to providing such assistances as wigs, prosthetics, groceries, transportation to treatment, rent, medical bills and co-payments, massage therapy and biofeedback…even pet walkers and critter sitters.

Unlike larger Cancer organizations, patients do not have to endure a long waiting process – women receive the response and assistance they need immediately. It is not uncommon for a check to be written the same day as the request. With your participation, we can reach even more metro area women in need.
