Welcome!

Critters for the Cure™ has three goals as a 501(c)(3) organization:

  1. Put a face to breast cancer through the sale of our annual Critters Calendars and “Critters Speak” Magazine
  2. Partner with community organizations to create powerful breast cancer alliances (i.e. Shady Grove Hospital, Montgomery County Humane Society, and The Discovery Channel)
  3. Raise capital via fund-raising activities to fund our Critters Patient Treatment Assistance Fund (CPTAF) to help uninsured and underinsured women with the financial gaps in treatment not covered by standard federal and state health assistance programs.

Our CPTAF program will enhance the traditional medical care that breast cancer patients receive by offering funds for treatments such as acupuncture, biofeedback, and massage therapy, as well as pay for things like wigs, and anti-nausea medications, medical bills, transportation, and even dog walkers.

2010 Breast Cancer Calendar Photo Shoot

Twelve breast cancer survivor models, 13 puppies, and 2 guinea pigs names Missy and Tracia all came together one sunny morning in April. Each woman exemplified the extraordinary bond people share with their critters. Our latest calendar shoot took place at the Kentland’s Mansion in Gaithersburg, MD on April 19, 2009. This was our first out door photo-shoot that we have ever attempted, and we were thrilled that the weather was perfect. Our photographers were from Labor of Love Studio who decided to shoot three distinctively different settings for our 2010 calendar cover. The tough part will be–which photo do we finally select?
